  1. Obituary for Walter Cade Jr.

    Walter E. Cade, Jr., 82, of Spring Hill, KS passed away Jan. 22, 2015 at Homestead Assisted Living of Olathe. Memorial service will be held 11:30 am Tues., Jan. 27, 2015 at Bruce Funeral Home, 712 S. Webster, Spring Hill, KS (913) 592-2244. Inurnment with military honors follows at Spring Hill Cemetery.     Walter was born Oct. 18, 1932 in Olathe, KS to Ada May (Deffenderfer) Cade and Walter Emil Cade, Sr. He grew up in Olathe and attended Olathe High School where he excelled in industrial arts. Walter served in the US Marine Corp. After his military service he moved back to the KC area where he was very proud to have worked as superintendent on many prominent Olathe buildings including some at Mid-America Nazarene Univ. Walter married Dorothy Louise Moser on July 30, 1954 in Ottawa, KS. They moved to Spring Hill in the early 60’s. For 21 years they co-owned Cade Hardware in Spring Hill; retiring in 1996. Walter was a member of the Spring Hill VFW and American Legion. He was an avid gardener, fisherman, a master woodworker and a morel mushroom hunter. Walter will be missed by family and friends.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Dorothy in 2014, sisters Wilma Clisso and LaVonne Waymire. Walter is survived by his children David Cade and Ping of Windsor, CA, Janet Bartel and Steve, Kevin Cade and Dena all of Olathe, KS; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren; siblings Wayne Cade, KC, KS, Terry Cade, TX, Gary Cade, TN, and Jolene Burton, TX.
