Walk to School Day is Oct. 5

Safe Kids Johnson County will join local school children, parents, caregivers and FedEx volunteers on Wednesday, Oct. 5 to raise awareness about pedestrian safety on International Walk to School Day. More than 250,000 children across the United States will participate in the annual event to learn about walking safely and to encourage the creation of safe walking environments.

This year, Manchester Park Elementary School (9810 Prairie Creek Road, Lenexa, KS 66220), is celebrating the event with a pedestrian safety presentation by FedEx, who will also bring a truck for the students to tour. The event starts at 8:30am at the school. Continue reading

City Council                                                          

The Olathe City Council will meet Tuesday, Oct. 4, at 7 p.m. in the Council Chamber at City Hall for a regular session.
