Gardner shooting under investigation

Johnson County Sheriff’s Deputies are investigating a shooting at a home in the 16000 block of Gardner Place, Gardner, Tuesday night, July 11..

Deputies a male victim with non life threatening injuries who was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. He has been transported to a local hospital for treatment. His condition is unknown.

Two other males were being detained for questioning.

No names were released.

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office investigation continues.

City Council

The Olathe City Council will meet Tuesday, July 19, at 7 p.m. in the Council Chamber at City Hall for a regular session. The Olathe City Council will hold its second workshop to review the 2017 conditionally approved budget during the Council meeting. The City of Olathe operates under a two-year budget term, which allows for better long-range planning and enhanced program analysis. The 2017 budget focuses on strategic investments that support the resident priority areas of public safety, transportation, and infrastructure maintenance. Fugitive in custody

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office warrant unit and tactical team Friday night, July 8, along with our partners from the U.S. Marshal’s service, ATF, Olathe police and fire, successfully apprehended fugitive Carlos Gonzalez, 21, from a home near 144th and Ashton in Olathe at approximately 10:10 p.m.

For more than seven hours, Gonzalez had barricaded himself in the home after U.S. Marshal’s attempted to make contact with him at about noon. Gonzalez has multiple felony warrants, both Federal and state from Kansas and Missouri.

The situation was resolved peacefully. The investigation continues by all parties involved.

Single vehicle accident kills driver

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a single vehicle crash at 164th and Lackman.

On Thursday, July 7, at approximately 5:50 p.m., a driver of a Dodge 1500 lost control on Lackman Road near 164th and hit a telephone pole. The impact flipped the vehicle, which landed on it’s roof. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation continues into the cause of the accident.
