Olathe man guilty of trafficking meth

Lorenzo Sepulveda, 34, Olathe, pleaded guilty today, Monday, Sept. 16, to one count of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.

In a press release from U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom, Sepulveda was trafficking Mexican methamphetamine into the Kansas City, Kan., area. In the plea agreement, both parties agreed to recommend a sentence of 18 years in federal prison. Continue reading

City Council
The Olathe City Council will next meet Tuesday, September 17, at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber at City Hall for a regular session. Mahaffie Wild West Days September 28 and 29
Enjoy Wild West skits, live entertainment and children’s games at Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop’s annual Wild West Days September 28 and 29.  This popular annual event offers visitors a variety of experiences and live entertainment to provide a taste of life in Kansas during the old west period.

Wild West Days will be held 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Saturday, September 28 and 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, September 29 at the Olathe historic site, 1200 Kansas City Road.  New this year is family-friendly admission, $5/person ages 5 and up or 5 people/$20; kids age 4 and under get in free.
